Burundi Cafex 100% ARABICA
Burundi Shikankoni Hill Natural coffee comes from Shikankoni Hill in the Kayanza region, where the Cafex project helps small farmers develop sustainable cultivation and improve living conditions for local families. Bourbon coffee trees grow at an altitude of 1,650–2,000 m a.s.l., and the cherries are hand-picked and dried on African beds under the sun for 2–3 weeks. From there, they are sent to the Ikawa Nziza mill, where they are hand-sorted and packed in GrainPro bags. In the cup, dominant flavors of strawberries with cream, fruit tea, and lemonade appear, with gentle acidity and a sweet finish. Thanks to its volcanic soil and the care of local farmers, the Kayanza region ranks among the most renowned in Burundi, while Cafex and Ikawa Nziza bring fair and transparent practices to production.
