Chemex velikosti 3, 6 šálků

We present to you a stylish dripper for alternative coffee preparation called Chemex. It is a simple, precise and fun preparation of up to six portions of filtered coffee.

Chemex was invented by the German chemist Petr J. Schlumbohm when he once wanted excellent coffee in his laboratory.

The inspiration was the so-called Erlenmeyer jar, complete with a wooden handle with a leather belt. The container is made of borosilicate glass, which can withstand high temperatures. It only remains to add the interesting fact that Chemex, thanks to its design, can also be found in the famous design museum in New York.

Preparing filtered coffee in the Chemex is simple. We insert a paper filter into the upper part, which we rinse with hot water, preferably using a kettle with a narrow goose neck. Rinsing moistens the filter and heats the Chemex at the same time. Then pour out the water.

Then put freshly ground coffee (medium-coarse grinding, 30g of coffee per 500ml) into the neck of the Chemex and start pouring the water in a circular motion with the water temperature ideally at 93°C.
